Our Outreach Programs

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 12: 34-35)

At. St. Anne’s we take Christ’s command to serve very seriously and we achieve this through our ministries. We show our love of God when we love and care for His creation. We have a variety of ways for everyone to get involved. Here are just a few of the ministries at St. Anne’s.

Memory Cafés are friendly gatherings designed for people experiencing changes in memory or thinking, along with those who support them. These Cafés offer a chance to enjoy time together, connect with others who understand, and explore fun activities in a relaxed setting. St. Anne’s is pleased to host the monthly gathering of Lee’s Summit Memory Cafe. Each month features different activities for participants.

Who Can Join?

  • Individuals living with memory changes or dementia

  • Family members, friends, and professional caregivers

Memory Cafés emphasize community, not medical conditions. Participants choose whether to discuss memory changes, and no diagnosis is required to attend.

Meals for Mustangs is another of St. Anne’s outreach ministries. We partner with Bernard Campbell Middle School in Lee’s Summit to provide nonperishable meal kits for families of Bernard Campbell students who face food insecurity.

The Necessity Pantry at St, Michael’s in Independence provides personal care and cleanliness items to those in our community who need them. These items are generally not available through government assistance programs or at food banks, and include soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent and products for oral care, feminine hygiene and incontinence. Pantry resources include generous in-kind donations from individuals, area churches and organizations like Giving the Basics and Harvesters.
