Equipping the Saints: Know Your Rights & Raise Your Voice

Join us for Equipping the Saints: Know Your Rights & Raise Your Voice, a community-centered Know Your Rights Training designed to empower, inform, and encourage faithful action rooted in compassion and justice. This engaging event at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Lee’s Summit is open to all who wish to learn more about personal rights, community advocacy, and Christian response in challenging time
During the training, participants will explore important topics such as protest safety, understanding your rights when interacting with law enforcement, and the rights of individuals with various citizenship statuses. The event also includes a call to action focused on how we can support our communities, along with open discussion and reflection grounded in faith.
The afternoon will conclude with a prayer and candlelight service, offering space to seek peace, guidance, and strength as we respond to the current crisis with love and courage.
Families are welcome! During the training, children will be invited to participate in a fun and meaningful group activity centered on Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s book God’s Dream, helping young hearts explore themes of love, justice, and God’s vision for the world in an age-appropriate way.
Following the training, everyone is invited to stay for an ice cream social — a joyful time to connect, share conversation, and build community together.
Whether you are new to advocacy, seeking deeper understanding, or looking for ways to support others faithfully, this event offers education, reflection, and fellowship in a welcoming environment.
